We are especially proud to be recognized as a Purple Star Campus—a designation awarded to Texas schools that show outstanding commitment and support for our military-connected students and their families. This honor reflects our dedication to addressing the unique challenges faced by these families and ensuring they feel welcomed, supported, and valued every step of the way.

At Deanna Davenport Elementary, we believe that building a strong sense of community starts from the very first day. We are committed to providing a warm, supportive environment where every student feels welcomed, connected, and valued.

To help new students transition smoothly into our school, we proudly support a Student Ambassador Program. Our student leaders, guided by dedicated campus-based staff sponsors, play an essential role in making new students feel at home. These ambassadors:

• Help organize and host newcomer social events, giving students a chance to build friendships early on.

• Provide guided tours of the campus, helping new students learn their way around and feel more comfortable in their new environment.

• Accompany new students to lunch during their first week, ensuring they never feel alone and always have a friendly face nearby.

By empowering student leaders and fostering a spirit of inclusion, we aim to create a positive and connected school culture for everyone.
